Charity Baby Shower

"Braden, did your mommy say you could have another cupcake?"

I know it was a week ago, but I'm tired! Anyway, here are a few pictures from our charity shower that we had last weekend for Tulsa's newborns in need. We had about 15 people stop by (I wish it was more!) but we got bags full of diapers, clothes, wipes, bottles, and blankets! They even got a car seat that Braden hardly used! Braden and his friend Ray-Ray had a blast playing with balloons and eating cupcakes all day long. Ok, Phyllis and I had a few too!

So I was going to update everyone on how our first week on the night shift was going ...... from work. As you can see, this is the only picture I had to go along with the story because, well, ..... this is all I feel like I've done ALL week long. It's been a long week. Today was only Braden's second day at daycare for 11 hours, so we shall see how that goes if I ever get out of here! Sorry if the picture is too graphic! I have a horrible headache (surprise, surprise), and this horribly loud liposuction machine is definitely NOT helping! Hope everyone is having a better week than I am! Kidding, it's not that bad. I love my job really. I'll be posting pictures of this weekend's charity baby shower soon. It went very well.

Monday FUNday!

For the next couple of months, I'm filling in for our late-shift nurse at work. This means 10-hour shifts Tuesday - Friday. So Mondays are now Braden's FUNday! So we didn't get off to a great start by going to get my car serviced, but he DID get a balloon! That counts for something!

Does this look like the face of a sick child? Yeah I didn't think so either, but we had a fun day after all the throwing up and blowout diapers stopped this morning. We took a nap and watched cartoons. Now I'm getting ready to make cookies. Being sick never tasted this good!

This weekend Braden and I went to the zoo with our friend Makayla. It was just cold enough to keep the rest of Tulsa out of the zoo, and we pretty much had it to ourselves most of the morning. The zoo keepers were all out feeding the animals, and we got a closer look than we ever have! The turtle zoo friend even let us in the cage with the turtles and let us help feed them. We learned all of their names and their funny personality differences. We were also the only ones in the petting zoo ... I've never seen it so clean! The kids had a lot of fun.
